Note: Thomas Morley composed music for the first production. According to tradition, William Shakespeare played Adam. In 1603, aguably, the play was performed at Wilton House n Friday 2 December. King James I and Arabella Stuart were amongst the audience. In 1669 it was reported that the play had been performed between 1609 and 1642 as part of the repertory of the King’s Men at Blackfriars.
